PART 1: CONSTITUTION:

1. Aims - In connection with the history, archaeology, natural history, geography, geology, ecology, cultural and social heritage of the Sultanate of Oman and its neighbors, the aims of the Association shall be:

1.1 To encourage study, research and interest

1.2 To assist in conservation, preservation, investigation and recording

1.3 To collect catalogue and disseminate information

1.4 To co-operate with, and give assistance to any officially approved institution, museum, research project or survey

1.5 To seek to foster links with similar organization in the region and elsewhere


2. Patron – The Patron of the Association is His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for as long as His Majesty wishes to hold the position.

3. Honorary President – The Committee shall nominate and Honorary President.

4. Membership shall be valid from 1 January to 31 December.

5. Committee – The Association shall be governed by a President with an annually elected Committee.

6. Languages – The Languages used by the Association shall be Arabic and English.

7. The financial year – The financial year shall end on 30 September.
