Tom Vosmer is a maritime archaeologist specialising in ancient and historical ships of the western Indian Ocean and Arabian Gulf. He has supervised the building of several ship reconstructions including Tim Severin’s Sohar which sailed from Oman to China in 1980. He has spent 12 years researching traditional boats of Oman.
